Why don’t we stop invading sovereign countries and propping up big oil and the military/industrial complex (both forms of wealth redistribution already)? We’re ALL paying for things we don’t support already! Much of your taxes go to things you wouldn’t support already…. Maybe members of Congress should not get such a generous expense budget… maybe they should cut the fat from countless other wasteful government uses instead of kicking the poor when they are down? Really? Is Planned Parenthood really the scourge of our nation right now? Is that going to solve any of our problems? NO. It is simply an ideoligical issue, an effort to shape us into a Christian dominated ultra-conservative nation.
The you’re-on-your-own, every-man-for-himself model of the Right is NOT going to make us a stronger nation. It’s going to make us weaker and more divided. Helping others makes us a more propserous nation overall – providing equal access to education, healthcare, opportunity. I am NOT a socialist (I support a logical, compassionate middle ground), but in Europe they ARE HAPPIER for a reason.
